Roger
is a longtime member, soloist, and arranger for Twin Cities
brass groups, rhythm and blues bands, and concert bands. He
played trumpet for the University of Minnesota's top wind
ensemble, as well as other bands there. He has played trumpet,
trombone, and baritone for many other groups over the years.
He is a recent inductee into both the Buglers Hall of Fame
and the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. In addition to the
Capital City Wind Ensemble, Roger also helps lead Minne-Brass
(a 20-member brass group) and Classic
Brass Inc., a brass quintet he helped found with his wife,
freelance writer and biographer Tina
Cavitt.
